Ensure the tractor is in neutral, sit on the seat, press the brake pedal, and turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F and SAE 5W-30 oil for temperatures below 32°F.
Check the battery charge, ensure the fuel tank has gas, inspect the spark plugs, and verify that all safety switches are engaged.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once per season.
Check for dull or damaged blades, sharpen or replace them as necessary, and ensure they are properly installed.
Inspect the air filter regularly, clean it by tapping out dust, or replace it if it is excessively dirty or damaged.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever, usually on the fender, and move it to the desired position.
Inspect the blades for damage or imbalance, check for loose bolts, and ensure the deck is not clogged with debris.
Replace the spark plugs every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first.
Clean the tractor, change the oil, add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank, remove the battery, and store it in a dry location.
