To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then turn off the engine. Place a container under the oil drain plug, remove the plug, and allow the oil to drain completely. Replace the plug and refill with the recommended oil type according to the user manual.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Ensure that the fuel is fresh and clean to avoid engine issues.
Check if the blades are dull or damaged and sharpen or replace them if necessary. Ensure that the tire pressure is even and the deck is level. Also, inspect for any debris that might be obstructing the blades.
Disconnect the spark plug for safety. Lift the mower deck to access the blades, use a wrench to remove the blade bolts, and replace with new blades. Securely tighten the bolts and lower the deck.
Regularly check the battery terminals for corrosion and clean if necessary. Ensure that the battery is fully charged, especially before long periods of storage. Use a battery maintainer if needed.
Check the fuel level and refill if necessary. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if needed. Ensure the battery is charged and the connections are secure. Check the safety interlocks and fuses.
Perform maintenance such as oil changes, air filter replacement, and blade sharpening every 25 hours of operation or at the beginning of the mowing season. Refer to the owner's manual for a detailed schedule.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever, usually on the side of the mower deck. Move the lever to your desired height setting, ensuring both sides are adjusted to the same level for even cutting.
Check for debris caught in the blades or under the mower deck. Inspect the blades for damage or imbalance. Ensure all nuts and bolts are tight. If the problem persists, consult a professional.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, and top off the fuel tank with a stabilizer. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
