Ensure the tractor is in neutral, engage the parking brake, insert the key into the ignition, and turn it clockwise to start the engine.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 40°F (4°C) and 10W-30 for colder conditions. Always check the manual for the manufacturer's recommendation.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season, whichever comes first.
Check the battery connections, ensure there is fuel, verify the spark plug is clean and intact, and make sure the safety switches are engaged properly.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever, usually near the driver's seat, and move it to the desired cutting height position.
Check if the blades are dull or damaged and sharpen or replace them if necessary. Also, ensure the deck is level by adjusting the deck leveling bolts.
Keep the battery terminals clean, ensure the battery is charged regularly, and store it in a cool, dry place during the off-season.
Routinely check and change the oil, clean or replace the air filter, inspect the blades, and ensure all nuts and bolts are tight.
Refer to the tire sidewall for the recommended pressure, but typically, it is around 14 PSI for the front tires and 10 PSI for the rear tires.
Clean the tractor, change the oil, remove the battery, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Also, add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank.
