Ensure the PTO is disengaged, the gear shift is in neutral, and the brake is engaged. Turn the ignition key clockwise to start the engine.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, verify the spark plug is clean, and that the air filter is not clogged.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever, typically positioned near the driver's seat, and move it to the desired height setting.
Check the PTO switch, ensure the belt is in good condition, and inspect the blade engagement system for any obstructions.
Regularly clean the terminals, check the electrolyte level, ensure the battery is fully charged, and store it in a cool, dry place.
This could be due to oil spillage on the engine, an overfilled oil reservoir, or a clogged air filter. Rectify the cause and monitor the situation.
Consider using tire chains, check tire pressure regularly, and ensure the weight distribution is balanced.
Routinely check and replace the oil and air filters, inspect belts and blades, lubricate moving parts, and check tire pressure.
