Murray 42581x58A Parts Manual

Ensure the tractor is on a level surface, the brake is engaged, and the PTO is disengaged. Insert the key and turn it to the start position. Release the key once the engine starts.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, inspect the spark plug for wear, and verify the brake is engaged and the PTO is off.
Change the oil after every 50 hours of use or at least once per season. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific oil type recommendations.
Refer to the sidewall of the tires or the owner’s manual for the recommended tire pressure, which is typically around 10-14 psi for the front tires and 10-12 psi for the rear tires.
Check if the mower deck is level, inspect the blades for sharpness and damage, and ensure the tire pressure is even. Adjust as necessary.
Clean the tractor, change the oil, add fuel stabilizer to the gas, remove the battery and store it in a warm place, and cover the tractor to protect it from the elements.
Disconnect the spark plug, lift the mower deck, and use a wrench to remove the blade bolt. Replace the blade and secure the bolt, ensuring the blade is positioned correctly.
Check the drive belt for wear and tension, inspect the transmission fluid level if applicable, and ensure the linkage is properly adjusted.
Regular maintenance such as changing the oil, air filter, and spark plug, maintaining proper tire pressure, and operating the tractor at recommended speeds can improve fuel efficiency.
Annually, change the oil and filter, replace the air filter, inspect the spark plug, check tire pressure, lubricate moving parts, and check for loose bolts or damaged components.
