Murray 42567x6A Parts Manual

To start the Murray 42567x6A Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the gear shift is in neutral. Turn the ignition key to the start position to crank the engine. Release the key once the engine starts.
If the tractor doesn't start, check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the fuel level is adequate, and verify the spark plug is functioning. Additionally, inspect the safety switches and fuses.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once each season. Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance.
Regularly clean the mower deck to prevent grass buildup, check and sharpen the blades, and inspect the belt for wear. Lubricate the spindles and check the deck alignment periodically.
Ensure the mower deck is level and the blades are sharp. Check the tire pressure and adjust if necessary. Inspect the deck for any damage or obstructions.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, worn pulleys, or loose components. Check and balance the blades, inspect the pulleys, and tighten any loose bolts or nuts.
Disconnect the battery, remove the mower deck, and release the tension on the idler pulley. Remove the old belt and install the new one following the belt routing diagram in the manual. Reassemble the deck and reconnect the battery.
The front tires should be inflated to 14 PSI and the rear tires to 10 PSI for optimal performance.
To extend battery life, keep the terminals clean and corrosion-free, ensure the battery is fully charged during storage, and check the electrolyte levels regularly if it's a non-sealed battery.
Check the drive belt for tension and wear, inspect the transmission fluid level if applicable, and ensure the freewheel control is not engaged. Verify all linkage connections are intact.
