To change the oil, warm up the engine, turn it off, and place a pan under the drain plug. Remove the plug, let the oil drain, and then replace the plug. Fill with new oil through the oil fill port and check the level with the dipstick.
Use SAE 30 motor oil for temperatures above 32°F. For colder climates, use SAE 5W-30. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
Check the fuel tank for gas, ensure the battery is charged, and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage. Additionally, ensure the safety switches are engaged.
Disconnect the spark plug wire for safety. Lift the tractor and secure it. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolt, replace the blade, and tighten the bolt securely. Ensure the blade is installed correctly.
The recommended tire pressure is typically around 14 psi for the front tires and 10 psi for the rear tires. Check the sidewall of the tire for exact specifications.
Regular maintenance should be performed every 25 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season, including oil changes, air filter replacement, and blade sharpening.
Check for debris trapped in the blade area, ensure that the blade is balanced and securely attached, and inspect for bent or damaged blades.
Turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug. Use a hose to spray the underside of the deck, removing grass and debris. Scrape off stubborn buildup with a plastic scraper.
Ensure the tire pressure is even, the blades are sharp and properly aligned, and the deck is level. Adjust the deck if necessary following the instructions in the manual.
Ensure the tires are properly inflated and consider adding wheel weights or tire chains. Always mow up and down slopes, not across, to improve traction and safety.
