Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface. Insert the key into the ignition, press the brake pedal, and turn the key to the start position. Release the key once the engine starts.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 40°F (4°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 40°F (4°C). Check the manual for specific brand recommendations.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first.
Check if the battery is charged, the fuel tank is filled, and the spark plug is clean. Ensure the brake pedal is fully depressed and the throttle is set to the correct position.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the right side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired position to adjust the cutting height.
Maintain the front tires at 14 PSI and the rear tires at 10 PSI for optimal performance and safety.
Ensure the blades are sharp and balanced. Check that the deck is level and adjust if necessary. Inspect for any obstructions or damage to the deck.
Park on a flat surface, remove the spark plug wire, and use a wrench to remove the blade bolts. Replace with new blades, ensuring they are properly aligned and secured.
Stop the engine immediately and allow it to cool. Check for debris blocking the air intake or cooling fins. Ensure the oil level is adequate and the cooling system is functioning properly.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, and add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
