Ensure the tractor is on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and shift to neutral. Turn the key in the ignition to start the engine.
Check the battery connections, fuel level, and ensure the choke is set properly. If it still won't start, inspect the spark plug and air filter.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season, whichever comes first.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for colder temperatures.
Locate the height adjustment lever on the side of the tractor and move it to the desired position to adjust the cutting height.
Check the blade engagement lever or switch. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace if necessary.
Turn off the tractor and remove the ignition key. Use a garden hose to wash away grass clippings and debris from the underside of the deck.
Ensure tires are properly inflated and consider adding wheel weights or tire chains for better traction on slippery or uneven surfaces.
Clean the tractor, change the oil, drain the fuel system, check the battery, and store in a dry, sheltered area.
Locate the air filter compartment, remove the cover, take out the old filter, and insert a new filter. Ensure the cover is securely reattached.
