Ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is disengaged, and the gear shift lever is in neutral. Turn the ignition key to the START position until the engine starts, then release the key.
Check the battery connections and charge if necessary. Ensure the fuel valve is open and the fuel tank has gasoline. Inspect the spark plug and replace if dirty or faulty.
Warm up the engine, then turn it off. Remove the oil drain plug and allow the oil to fully drain. Replace the drain plug and refill with the recommended oil type and capacity.
Maintain front tires at 14 psi and rear tires at 10 psi for optimal performance and safety.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired position to raise or lower the cutting deck.
Check for debris under the mower deck and ensure the blades are balanced and properly installed. Inspect the engine mounting bolts and tighten if necessary.
Regularly check and change the oil, clean or replace the air filter, inspect the spark plug, and lubricate moving parts. Also, sharpen the blades and check tire pressure periodically.
Disconnect the spark plug wire for safety. Remove the mower deck, then the belt guards. Remove the old belt and install the new one, ensuring it is routed correctly. Reattach the belt guards and mower deck.
Check the tire pressures and ensure they are equal and correct. Inspect the mower deck for levelness and adjust as needed. Sharpen or replace the mower blades if they are dull or damaged.
Verify all fuses are intact and replace if needed. Check the battery voltage with a multimeter and ensure all wiring connections are secure and corrosion-free.
