Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, set the throttle to the choke position, turn the ignition key to start, and adjust the throttle as needed once the engine is running.
To change the oil, warm up the engine, place a drain pan under the engine, remove the oil drain plug, allow the oil to drain completely, replace the drain plug, and refill with the appropriate oil type and quantity.
Check the battery charge and connections, ensure the fuel tank has fresh fuel, inspect the spark plug for dirt or damage, and confirm the safety switches are engaged.
Check the tire pressure for consistency, inspect the mower deck for levelness, sharpen or replace the blades if dull, and clear any debris from the deck.
Regularly check the battery terminals for corrosion, clean them if necessary, ensure the battery is securely mounted, and keep the battery charged, especially before storage.
Disconnect the spark plug, remove the mower deck, release the tension on the belt, remove the old belt, install the new belt, ensure it is properly seated, and reattach the mower deck.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87 and avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10% to prevent engine damage.
The air filter should be checked every 25 hours of operation and replaced annually or more frequently if operating in dusty conditions.
Refer to the owner's manual for the specific tire pressure recommendations, but it is typically around 10-14 PSI for the front tires and 8-10 PSI for the rear tires.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, stabilize the fuel, remove the battery and store it in a dry place, and cover the tractor to protect it from the elements.
