To start the Murray 38711x67A Tractor, ensure the transmission is in neutral, engage the parking brake, and turn the ignition key to start the engine. Allow the engine to warm up for a few minutes before beginning operation.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting the air filter, sharpening the blades, checking tire pressure, and inspecting belts and hoses for wear.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections, ensure the fuel tank is full, examine the spark plug for wear, and verify that the safety switches are engaged.
If the blades do not engage, check the PTO switch, ensure the drive belts are intact and properly tensioned, and inspect the blade engagement cable for any damage.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season, whichever comes first. Use the oil type recommended in the owner’s manual.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol-blended fuels with more than 10% ethanol content.
To replace the mower blades, first ensure the tractor is turned off and the key is removed. Lift the mower deck, use a wrench to remove the blade bolts, and replace the blades with new ones. Tighten the bolts securely.
Excessive vibration may be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades, loose parts, or worn belts. Inspect these components and replace or tighten as necessary.
Adjust the cutting height by moving the lever located on the fender to the desired position. Always adjust the height with the mower deck disengaged and the engine turned off.
For winter storage, clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the tractor to protect it from dust.
