To start the Murray 38602x70H Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the transmission is in neutral. Insert the key and turn it to the "Start" position. Once the engine starts, release the key.
If the tractor doesn't start, check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the fuel tank has fuel, and inspect the spark plugs. If issues persist, consult the manual or contact a professional technician.
Regular maintenance should be performed every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. This includes changing the oil, checking the air filter, and inspecting belts.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then turn it off. Remove the drain plug and let the oil drain into a suitable container. Replace the drain plug, then refill the engine with new oil according to the specifications in the manual.
The Murray 38602x70H Tractor is designed to run on unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10%.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the deck lift lever on the right side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position, making sure the deck is level.
Unusual noises may indicate loose belts, debris caught in the blades, or engine issues. Inspect these areas and tighten or clean as needed. If the noise persists, consult a technician.
Uneven cutting may be caused by an unlevel deck, dull blades, or tire pressure discrepancies. Check and adjust the deck level, sharpen or replace blades, and ensure all tires are inflated to the recommended pressure.
Always wear appropriate protective gear, such as goggles and ear protection. Ensure the area is clear of bystanders, especially children. Operate on slopes carefully, and never bypass safety features.
For off-season storage, clean the tractor thoroughly, remove debris, and perform necessary maintenance. Drain the fuel or add a stabilizer, disconnect the battery, and store the tractor in a dry, sheltered area.
