To change the oil, first ensure the tractor is on a level surface and the engine is off. Remove the oil drain plug and allow the old oil to drain into a pan. Replace the drain plug and refill with the recommended oil type and amount as specified in the manual.
Check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Verify the fuel level and ensure the fuel shutoff valve is open. Check the spark plug for wear or dirt, and replace if necessary.
Regularly inspect the blades for damage or dullness. Sharpen them using a blade sharpener or have them professionally sharpened. Replace blades if they are bent or cracked.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent engine damage.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and remove any debris. Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer. Store the tractor in a dry, covered location, and disconnect the battery to prevent discharge.
Check the transmission fluid level and add fluid if necessary. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace it if needed. Consult a professional if the issue persists.
The air filter should be checked every 25 hours of operation and replaced at least once a year, or more frequently if used in dusty conditions.
Refer to the owner's manual for the specific tire pressure, typically around 14 psi for the front tires and 10 psi for the rear tires. Adjust as necessary for optimal performance.
Ensure the deck is level and adjust if necessary. Check that the blades are sharp and not bent. Make sure the tire pressure is even and appropriate, and clear any debris from the deck.
Ensure the engine cooling fins are clean and not blocked by debris. Check the engine oil level and add oil if necessary. Inspect the radiator and coolant levels if applicable.
