To change the oil, first ensure the engine is off and cool. Remove the oil drain plug located underneath the engine and let the old oil drain into a suitable container. Replace the drain plug and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity as per the manual.
Check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Verify that there is fresh fuel in the tank and check the spark plug for wear or damage. If these steps don't resolve the issue, consult the manual or a professional technician.
Blades should be sharpened at least once per mowing season or more often if you notice uneven cutting. Always disconnect the spark plug before working on the mower deck to ensure safety.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol to prevent potential damage to the engine.
Locate the height adjustment lever, usually found near the wheels or on the mower deck. Move the lever to the desired height setting, making sure all wheels are adjusted to the same level for an even cut.
Refer to the operator's manual for the exact tire pressure specifications. Generally, front tires should be around 14 PSI and rear tires at 10 PSI, but always check the manual for confirmation.
To extend battery life, regularly check and clean the terminals, ensure the battery is fully charged before storage, and remove it during the off-season. Store in a cool, dry place.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. If it's a paper filter, tap it gently to remove dust, or replace if necessary. For foam filters, wash with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow to dry before reinstalling.
Before storing, clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, remove the battery, and add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank. Store in a dry place and cover with a tarp to protect from dust and moisture.
Check for dull or damaged blades and sharpen or replace them if needed. Ensure that the tire pressure is even and that the mower deck is level. Clear any debris from the deck and blades that might impede performance.
