Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface, check the fuel level, and engage the parking brake. Turn the ignition key to the 'Start' position until the engine fires up.
Check the blade engagement lever or switch. Ensure the belt is not damaged and is correctly positioned on the pulleys.
Use SAE 30 oil for general use in temperatures above 40°F. For colder conditions, use SAE 5W-30.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Check the battery connections, fuel level, and spark plug. Ensure the safety switches are engaged and the transmission is in neutral.
Use the height adjustment lever located near the driver's seat to select the desired cutting height.
Maintain the front tires at 14 psi and the rear tires at 10 psi for optimal performance.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, and install a new one with the correct gap.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with mild soap and water. Allow it to dry before reinstalling.
Inspect the mower blades for damage or imbalance, check the engine mounting bolts, and ensure the belts are not worn or misaligned.
