To start the tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO is disengaged, and the throttle is set to the choke position. Turn the ignition key to the start position until the engine starts, then release it to the run position.
For optimal performance, use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
Check the PTO switch for proper operation, inspect the drive belt for wear or damage, and ensure the deck is not obstructed by debris. If issues persist, consult the service manual.
The recommended tire pressure for the front tires is 14 PSI and for the rear tires is 10 PSI. Always check the pressure with a reliable gauge when the tires are cold.
Blades should be sharpened every 25 operating hours or at least once per mowing season to ensure a clean cut and maintain lawn health.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, inspect the air filter for clogs, and verify that the battery is charged.
Remove the spark plug wire, clean any debris around the plug, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, and install a new one with the correct gap setting. Reattach the spark plug wire securely.
Regularly clean the tractor to remove dirt and moisture, store it in a dry, covered area, and apply a rust-inhibitor spray to vulnerable metal parts.
Inspect the steering components for wear or damage, tighten any loose bolts, and ensure the tires are properly inflated. If necessary, consult a professional technician for alignment.
To winterize, drain the fuel system or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the tractor thoroughly, and store it in a dry place. Disconnect the battery to prevent discharge.
