To start the Murray 38502x51A Tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is in the "off" position, and the throttle is set to "choke" if the engine is cold. Turn the ignition key to the "start" position until the engine starts, then release.
If the tractor doesn't start, check the battery connections, ensure the fuel tank is not empty, and verify the spark plug is functioning. If these are fine, consult the user manual for further troubleshooting tips.
Change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once per season. Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F.
The recommended tire pressure for the front tires is 14 PSI and for the rear tires is 10 PSI. Always check the tire pressure before operating the tractor.
To clean the mower deck, safely elevate the tractor and use a garden hose to remove grass clippings and debris. For stubborn debris, use a plastic scraper. Regular cleaning prevents rust and ensures optimal performance.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, damaged pulleys, or loose bolts. Inspect the blades for damage and balance them if needed. Tighten any loose bolts and replace damaged pulleys.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the tractor. Move the lever to the desired position to achieve the preferred grass height. Ensure that both sides are adjusted equally.
If the blades won't engage, check the PTO switch and ensure it's functioning correctly. Inspect the belt for damage or misalignment, and check for any electrical issues related to the PTO system.
To replace the air filter, locate the air filter cover and remove it. Take out the old air filter and replace it with a new one. Secure the cover back in place. Regular replacement ensures optimal engine performance.
Before storing the tractor for winter, clean the mower deck, change the oil, add fuel stabilizer, and remove the battery to store in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
