To start the Murray 38500x92A Tractor, ensure it is on a flat surface. Insert the key into the ignition, check the brake pedal is depressed, and the PTO lever is disengaged. Turn the key to the 'Start' position and release once the engine starts.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the fuel tank is not empty, and verify that the spark plug is in good condition. Also, ensure the brake pedal is fully depressed and the PTO is disengaged.
It's recommended to change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once per season. Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance in temperatures above 32°F.
To replace the mower blades, first ensure the tractor is on a flat surface and the engine is off. Use a block to hold the blade in place and a wrench to remove the blade bolt. Replace with a new blade and secure tightly.
Check if the mower deck is level. Adjust the deck height levers to ensure both sides are even. Also, inspect the blades for sharpness and replace if necessary.
Check the transmission fluid level and top up if necessary. Inspect the drive belt for wear and replace if needed. Ensure the shift lever is moving freely and not obstructed.
Clean the mower deck and remove any debris. Change the oil and air filter. Add fuel stabilizer to the tank and run the engine for a few minutes. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever, usually on the side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired position, ensuring both sides are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check for loose bolts and tighten them. Inspect the blades for damage or imbalance and replace if necessary. Also, ensure the tires are inflated to the recommended pressure.
To clean the air filter, remove the filter cover and take out the filter. If it's a paper filter, tap it gently to remove debris. For foam filters, wash with soap and water, dry, and apply a small amount of oil before reinstalling.
