Ensure the parking brake is engaged, the throttle is set to the choke position, and the PTO is off. Turn the ignition key to the start position until the engine starts.
Check the battery connections, ensure the fuel tank has gasoline, and verify the spark plug is functioning.
Drain the old oil by removing the drain plug, replace the plug, and refill with the recommended oil type and amount.
Regularly check and change the oil, clean or replace the air filter, inspect and replace spark plugs, and ensure the blades are sharp.
Check if the mower deck is level, the blades are sharp, and the tire pressure is even on all sides.
Blades should be sharpened at least once per mowing season or more frequently if you notice uneven cutting or tearing of grass.
Refer to the user manual for the exact tire pressure, typically around 10-14 psi for the rear tires and 12-15 psi for the front tires.
To engage the PTO, move the throttle to full speed and pull the PTO lever or switch to the engaged position.
Potential causes include a clogged air filter, dirty spark plug, or low fuel quality. Check these components and replace as necessary.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, add fuel stabilizer, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the tractor.
