Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface. Insert the ignition key and turn it to the 'Start' position while pressing the brake pedal. Release the key when the engine starts.
Check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness. Ensure the brake pedal is fully depressed and the PTO switch is off. If the problem persists, check the fuel level and spark plug condition.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10%.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the mower deck. Move the lever to the desired height setting to adjust the cutting height.
Check if the PTO switch is engaged. Inspect the drive belt for damage or misalignment. If necessary, consult the user manual for belt replacement instructions.
Keep the battery terminals clean and free from corrosion. Check the electrolyte level regularly and ensure the battery is fully charged before long-term storage.
Ensure the tires are inflated to the correct pressure. Check the mower deck for levelness and adjust as necessary. Inspect the blades for sharpness and replace if worn or damaged.
Refer to the tire sidewall for the manufacturer's recommended pressure. Typically, the front tires should be inflated to 14 PSI and the rear tires to 10 PSI.
Clean the tractor thoroughly to remove dirt and grass clippings. Change the oil and fuel filter, and add a fuel stabilizer. Store the tractor in a dry, sheltered place and disconnect the battery.
