Kohler PCH680 Owner's Manual

The recommended oil type for the Kohler PCH680 engine is SAE 10W-30 or SAE 30 for temperatures above 32°F. For temperatures below 32°F, use SAE 5W-30.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation, then every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
The Kohler PCH680 engine uses a Champion RC12YC spark plug or equivalent.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is in good condition, verify that the air filter is clean, and ensure the battery is fully charged.
Possible causes for a rough-running engine include dirty air filters, old fuel, spark plug issues, or carburetor problems.
Drain the fuel system, change the oil, remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder, and store in a dry place.
The valve clearance for the Kohler PCH680 engine should be set to 0.004-0.006 inches for both intake and exhaust valves.
To clean the carburetor, remove it from the engine, disassemble it, and clean each part with a carburetor cleaner. Reassemble and reinstall once dry.
Use clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Do not use gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
To adjust the governor, loosen the governor lever nut, push the governor lever to the wide-open throttle position, and turn the governor shaft clockwise to the limit. Tighten the nut to secure the setting.
