The recommended oil type for the Kohler LH775 engine is 10W-30 for general use. For temperatures below 32°F (0°C), 5W-20 or 5W-30 is recommended.
The oil should be changed every 100 hours of operation or at least once a year, whichever comes first.
The spark plug gap for the Kohler LH775 engine should be set to 0.030 inches (0.76 mm).
If the engine won't start, check for fuel, ensure the spark plug is functioning, verify the air filter is clean, and check battery charge if applicable.
Regular maintenance includes changing the oil, replacing the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, and checking for loose bolts and connections.
To adjust the carburetor, locate the adjustment screws and turn them to achieve the desired idle speed and mixture, ideally following the service manual specifications.
Check for proper airflow around the engine, ensure the cooling fins are clean, verify the oil level, and make sure the fuel mixture is correct.
To replace the air filter, remove the cover, take out the old filter, clean the housing, and install a new filter ensuring it is seated properly.
Symptoms may include the engine not starting, running rough, or misfiring. Testing the coil with a multimeter can confirm if it's faulty.
To winterize, drain the fuel system, change the oil, remove the battery if applicable, and store the engine in a dry, protected area.
