To start a fire, open the air control fully, place crumpled newspaper and kindling at the base, and light it. Gradually add larger logs as the fire establishes.
Ensure the chimney is clean and unobstructed, check that the air vents are open, and use dry, seasoned wood to minimize smoke production.
Allow the fireplace to cool completely. Use a ceramic glass cleaner and a soft cloth or sponge to gently remove soot and residue.
Perform an annual inspection and cleaning of the chimney and firebox. Regularly check gaskets and replace if necessary. Clean the glass as needed.
Start with the air control fully open to establish the fire, then gradually reduce it to control the burn rate and achieve efficient combustion.
Use hardwoods like oak, hickory, or maple that are well-seasoned with a moisture content of less than 20% for optimal heat and minimal smoke.
Burn only dry, seasoned wood, maintain a hot fire, and have your chimney inspected and cleaned at least once a year to prevent creosote buildup.
Check the power supply and ensure the blower switch is on. If the blower still isn't working, inspect for any blockages or contact a professional for repair.
Remove the old gasket, clean the channel, and apply a high-temperature adhesive before pressing the new gasket firmly into place. Allow it to dry before use.
Only burn manufactured logs that are approved for use in wood stoves or fireplaces, as others may release harmful chemicals or cause excessive creosote buildup.
