To start the Jonsered GTA850-28 Trimmer, ensure the trimmer is on a flat surface. Switch the ignition to 'ON', prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb a few times until fuel is visible, set the choke lever to the 'COLD START' position, and pull the starter rope until the engine fires. Once started, move the choke to the 'RUN' position.
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and high-quality 2-cycle oil in a 50:1 ratio for the Jonsered GTA850-28 Trimmer. Ensure that the gasoline has an octane rating of at least 89.
Replace the trimmer line when it becomes worn, breaks frequently, or when the line is no longer feeding properly. Regular inspection and replacement as needed will ensure optimal performance.
If the engine won't start, check the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, ensure that the air filter is clean, and verify that the choke is set correctly. If issues persist, consult the user manual or a professional technician.
To clean the air filter, remove the cover, take out the filter, and wash it with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. Regular cleaning helps maintain engine performance.
Regular maintenance includes checking and replacing the spark plug annually, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting the fuel system for leaks, and ensuring the trimmer head is free from debris. Lubricate moving parts as needed.
To replace the spark plug, first disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug. Check the gap on the new spark plug, install it carefully, and reattach the spark plug wire.
If the trimmer line is not advancing, check for tangles or breaks in the line. Ensure the spool is wound correctly and that the head is clean and free from debris. Re-spool the line if necessary.
Always wear protective eyewear, gloves, long pants, and sturdy shoes when operating the trimmer. Keep bystanders and pets at a safe distance. Be aware of your surroundings and avoid contact with hard obstacles that can cause kickback.
Before storing, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the trimmer thoroughly and inspect for any damage. Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
