To start the Jonsered CS2245S II chainsaw, first ensure the chain brake is engaged. Set the ignition switch to "On". Pull the choke control out to the full extent. Pull the starter handle until the engine fires, then push the choke control back in halfway. Pull the starter handle again until the engine starts. Release the chain brake to begin operation.
The Jonsered CS2245S II chainsaw requires a 50:1 ratio of unleaded gasoline to two-stroke engine oil. Use fresh gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 89 and high-quality two-stroke oil. Mix thoroughly before filling the tank.
If your chainsaw won't start, check for a few common issues: ensure the fuel tank has the correct fuel mixture, the spark plug is clean and functioning, the air filter is not clogged, and the ignition switch is set to "On". If problems persist, consult the user manual or a professional technician.
To clean the air filter, first remove the air filter cover by unscrewing it. Take out the air filter and wash it in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry completely. Reinstall the filter and secure the cover before use.
Regular maintenance includes checking and cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, ensuring the chain is sharp and properly tensioned, lubricating the chain, and checking for loose bolts and parts. Regularly clean the chainsaw to prevent debris buildup.
To tension the chain, loosen the bar nuts slightly. Use the chain tensioning screw to adjust the chain until there is a small gap between the chain and the guide bar, allowing the chain to move freely. Tighten the bar nuts securely after adjusting.
If the chain keeps coming off, check if the chain is properly tensioned and that the bar nuts are securely tightened. Inspect the chain and bar for wear or damage. Replace if necessary. Ensure the chain is correctly seated on the sprocket and guide bar.
To sharpen the chain, use a round file that fits the chain's cutters. File each cutter at a consistent angle, using a filing guide if necessary. File all cutters evenly and check the depth gauges, filing them down as needed to maintain proper height.
Use high-quality bar and chain oil specifically designed for chainsaws. This type of oil is formulated to adhere to the chain and bar, providing necessary lubrication and reducing wear. Regularly check the oil level to ensure consistent lubrication during use.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a loose or improperly tensioned chain, worn or damaged parts, or a misaligned guide bar. Inspect and correct these issues. If vibration persists, consult the user manual or contact a professional for further assistance.
