To start the Jonsered FC2256 Trimmer, first ensure the trimmer is on a flat surface. Set the choke to the "closed" position, prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb 5-6 times, then pull the starter rope sharply until the engine starts. Once the engine starts, set the choke to the "open" position.
The Jonsered FC2256 Trimmer requires a mix of unleaded gasoline and high-quality 2-cycle engine oil at a ratio of 50:1. Ensure the gasoline is no more than 10% ethanol.
To replace the trimmer line, turn off the trimmer and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the spool by pressing the tabs on the spool holder. Wind the new line tightly in the direction of the arrows on the spool, then reattach the spool to the trimmer.
If the trimmer is not starting, check the fuel mixture and ensure it's fresh. Inspect the spark plug for damage or dirt and clean or replace if necessary. Confirm that the air filter is clean and the choke is in the correct position.
Clean the air filter after every 10 hours of operation or more frequently in dusty conditions. To clean, remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and wash it with warm soapy water. Let it dry completely before reinstalling.
If the trimmer line keeps breaking, ensure you are using the correct line diameter recommended in the manual. Avoid hitting hard surfaces like concrete and rocks, and reduce throttle speed when trimming near obstacles.
To reduce vibration, ensure that all parts are securely fastened. Regularly maintain the cutting attachment and replace it if it's worn out. Holding the trimmer with both hands helps distribute weight and reduce vibration.
Regular maintenance includes checking and cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, checking the fuel system for leaks, and inspecting the cutting attachment. Additionally, lubricate the gear head and inspect the drive shaft.
For off-season storage, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the trimmer thoroughly, inspect for any damage, and lubricate metal parts to prevent rust. Store the trimmer in a dry, cool place.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety goggles, and hearing protection. Keep bystanders at a safe distance, and avoid operating the trimmer near flammable materials. Always follow the instructions in the user manual.
