To start the Husqvarna YTH22K42, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the blades are disengaged, and the throttle is in the choke position. Turn the ignition key clockwise to start the engine.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Ensure the oil is API service classification SF, SG, SH, SJ or higher.
Adjust the cutting height by moving the lever located on the fender, which has multiple positions for different cutting heights.
Check the belt for wear or damage, ensure the PTO switch is operational, and verify that the battery is fully charged.
Replace the air filter every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. Check more frequently if operating in dusty conditions.
The recommended tire pressure is 14 psi for the rear tires and 10 psi for the front tires.
Ensure the fuel tank is not empty, the battery is charged, and the spark plug is clean and connected. Also, check the safety switches and fuses.
Keep the battery terminals clean and tight. Charge the battery before storing the mower for an extended period. Avoid storing in freezing temperatures.
Clean the mower, change the oil, and remove the battery for storage. Store in a dry, covered area. Consider using a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation.
Remove the blades and use a file or grinder to sharpen the cutting edges. Ensure the blades are balanced before reattaching them to the mower.
