The recommended oil type for the Husqvarna VITPILEN 401 2018 is fully synthetic 15W-50 motorcycle oil.
It is recommended to change the oil every 5,000 km (3,107 miles) or once a year, whichever comes first.
If the engine overheats, stop the motorcycle safely and allow it to cool down. Check the coolant level and ensure the radiator is not obstructed. Consult a professional if the issue persists.
The recommended tire pressure is 29 psi (2.0 bar) for the front tire and 32 psi (2.2 bar) for the rear tire.
To adjust the chain tension, place the motorcycle on a stand, loosen the axle nut, and turn the adjuster screws evenly on both sides until the desired tension is achieved. Ensure the tension is within the specified range in the owner’s manual.
Regular maintenance includes checking and adjusting the chain, changing the oil and filter, inspecting brakes, checking tire pressures, and ensuring all lights and electronics are functioning correctly.
To improve fuel efficiency, maintain proper tire pressure, perform regular maintenance, avoid excessive idling, and ride at steady speeds.
If the motorcycle won't start, check the battery charge, ensure the kill switch is in the correct position, check the fuel level, and inspect the fuses. If the problem persists, consult a mechanic.
To store your VITPILEN 401 for the winter, clean and dry the motorcycle, change the oil, add fuel stabilizer, disconnect the battery, and store it in a dry, covered location.
For breaking in a new engine, avoid full throttle, vary the engine speed, and do not lug the engine. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines and complete the initial service at 1,000 km (621 miles).
