To start the Husqvarna TS 342, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the blades are disengaged, and the throttle is in the "start" position. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it clockwise to start the engine.
Check that the battery is charged, the fuel tank is filled with fresh gasoline, and the spark plug is clean and connected. Also, ensure all safety switches are properly engaged.
Oil should be changed after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours of operation or once per mowing season. Always use the oil type recommended in the user manual.
The recommended tire pressure for the Husqvarna TS 342 is 15 PSI for the front tires and 10 PSI for the rear tires. Regularly check and adjust the pressure as needed.
To sharpen the blades, remove them from the mower and use a grinder or file to sharpen the cutting edges. Ensure the blades are balanced before reinstalling them.
Before storage, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, remove the battery, and add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank. Store in a dry, sheltered location.
To adjust the cutting height, use the lever located near the driver's seat. Move the lever up or down to select the desired cutting height, which ranges from 1.5 to 4 inches.
Check if the blades are dull or damaged and sharpen or replace them as necessary. Ensure the cutting deck is clean and properly leveled.
Turn off the mower and disconnect the spark plug. Use a hose to rinse the underside of the deck, removing grass clippings and debris. A plastic scraper can help with stubborn buildup.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, loose bolts, or damaged components. Check the blades for balance and inspect the mower for any loose or damaged parts.
