To break in the engine, avoid full-throttle starts and refrain from exceeding 75% of the maximum engine speed for the first 600 miles (1,000 km). Vary engine speeds and avoid prolonged running at a constant speed.
The recommended tire pressure for the Husqvarna SVARTPILEN 701 is 36 PSI (2.5 bar) for the front tire and 42 PSI (2.9 bar) for the rear tire.
To check the oil level, position the motorcycle on a level surface, and let the engine idle for a few minutes. Turn off the engine and wait for a minute. Use the oil sight glass on the lower right side of the engine to check the level. The oil should be between the two marks.
If the engine won't start, check the kill switch position, ensure the bike is in neutral, check the fuel level, and inspect the battery connections. If the issue persists, consult a professional mechanic.
It is recommended to change the engine oil every 6,200 miles (10,000 km) or once a year, whichever comes first. Always use the oil grade specified in the owner's manual.
Husqvarna recommends using a high-quality ethylene glycol-based coolant with corrosion inhibitors specifically formulated for aluminum engines. Ensure it meets the standards for your specific climate.
To adjust the suspension, refer to the owner's manual for the specific settings for preload, compression, and rebound damping. Adjust according to your weight and riding style for optimal comfort.
If the brakes feel spongy, check for air in the brake lines and bleed the brakes if necessary. Also, inspect the brake fluid level and top it off with the recommended type if it's low.
To replace the air filter, remove the seat and the airbox cover. Take out the old filter and insert the new one, ensuring it is properly seated. Reattach the airbox cover and seat.
Regular maintenance checks include inspecting tire pressure and tread, checking fluid levels (oil, coolant, brake fluid), lubricating the chain, and checking for any loose bolts or unusual noises.
