To start the Husqvarna Madsaw 525DEPS Pole Saw, first ensure the chain brake is engaged. Prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb six times. Set the choke to the full position, then pull the starter handle until the engine fires. Once it fires, set the choke to the run position and pull the starter handle again until the engine starts.
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and high-quality synthetic 2-stroke oil at a ratio of 50:1. Ensure the gasoline has an octane rating of at least 89 to optimize performance and longevity of the engine.
To adjust the chain tension, turn off the saw and let it cool. Loosen the bar nuts slightly. Use the tensioning screw to adjust the chain tension until the chain fits snugly against the underside of the bar but can still be pulled around by hand. Tighten the bar nuts securely after adjustment.
Regular maintenance includes checking and cleaning the air filter, inspecting and sharpening the chain, checking the chain tension, and inspecting the guide bar for wear. Additionally, inspect the spark plug and replace it if necessary, and ensure the fuel tank is free from debris.
If the pole saw won't start, ensure there is fresh fuel in the tank and that the fuel mixture is correct. Check the spark plug for fouling or damage and replace if needed. Confirm the air filter is clean and free from obstructions. If problems persist, inspect the fuel lines for leaks or damage.
To reduce vibration, ensure the chain is properly tensioned and sharpened. Verify that the anti-vibration system is functioning correctly and that all nuts and bolts are securely tightened. Using proper operating techniques and wearing anti-vibration gloves can also help.
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including gloves, eye protection, ear protection, and sturdy footwear. Ensure the work area is clear of obstacles and bystanders. Familiarize yourself with the emergency stop procedure and maintain a secure footing while operating the saw.
To clean the air filter, remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. Wash the filter in warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Allow it to air dry completely before reinstalling. Replace the filter if it is damaged or excessively dirty.
If the chain oil is not dispensing, check the oil reservoir to ensure it is full and that the oil is not contaminated. Inspect the oil outlet and clean any blockages. Verify that the oil pump is functioning properly and adjust the oil flow if necessary.
The spark plug should be inspected regularly and replaced every 100 operating hours or sooner if it shows signs of wear or fouling. Use a spark plug that meets the manufacturer's specifications to ensure optimal performance.
