To start the Husqvarna LG 504 Compactor, ensure the fuel valve is open, set the choke to the closed position if the engine is cold, and then pull the starter rope firmly. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke to the open position.
If the compactor doesn't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected properly, and verify that the air filter is clean. Also, make sure the choke is set correctly for the engine temperature.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level and changing it every 50 hours of operation, cleaning the air filter, inspecting the fuel lines for leaks, and tightening any loose bolts or screws.
Excessive vibration can be caused by loose bolts, worn shock mounts, or an unbalanced base plate. Inspect these components and tighten or replace them as necessary.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol-blended fuels with more than 10% ethanol content.
To transport the compactor, secure it to a trailer or vehicle using appropriate straps. Ensure the fuel valve is closed and the engine is cool before moving.
Before storing, clean the compactor thoroughly, drain the fuel tank, change the oil, and remove the spark plug. Store it in a dry, cool place and cover it to protect against dust and moisture.
To adjust the throttle control, locate the throttle cable and adjust the tension by loosening the lock nut and repositioning the cable, then tighten the lock nut to secure it.
If the base plate doesn't vibrate, check for hydraulic oil levels, inspect the exciter unit for damage or wear, and ensure all connections are secure.
Check the air filter every 25 hours of operation and replace it if it appears dirty or clogged. Regular replacement helps maintain optimal engine performance.
