To start the mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the choke is engaged if the engine is cold, and the throttle is set to the 'fast' position. Pull the starter cord firmly until the engine starts.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than E10.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25 hours or at the start of each mowing season.
Safely tip the mower sideways with the carburetor facing upwards to prevent fuel leakage. Use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris from the deck. Avoid using high-pressure water.
Check if there is fresh fuel in the tank, the spark plug is clean and properly connected, and the air filter is not clogged. Ensure the safety handle is engaged while starting.
Inspect the blade for damage or imbalance. Check for debris buildup on the blade or under the deck. Tighten all nuts, bolts, and screws.
Locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel and move them to the desired position to raise or lower the cutting height. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height.
Disconnect the spark plug wire for safety. Tilt the mower and use a wrench to remove the blade bolt. Replace the blade with a new one, ensuring it is balanced, and securely tighten the bolt.
Regularly check and change the oil, clean or replace the air filter, inspect the spark plug, and ensure the blades are sharp and balanced. Also, clean the mower deck and check the wheels and drive system.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Clean the mower thoroughly to prevent rust. Store in a dry, sheltered location. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
