Use SAE 30 oil for general use. If operating at varying temperatures, consider using SAE 10W-30 for better performance.
To replace the blade, disconnect the spark plug, tilt the mower to access the blade, use a wrench to remove the blade bolt, and install the new blade. Ensure the blade is securely fastened before use.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and if it's a foam filter, wash it with soap and water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. If it's a paper filter, replace it if dirty.
Check the spark plug for wear or damage, ensure there is fresh fuel, clean or replace the air filter, and ensure the carburetor is clean for proper fuel flow.
Sharpen the blade at least once a season or after 25 hours of use. Regular sharpening ensures a clean cut and promotes healthy lawn growth.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and store the mower in a dry place. Additionally, remove the battery if applicable.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced blade, loose parts, or a damaged crankshaft. Check the blade balance, tighten any loose bolts, and inspect for damage.
Locate the height adjustment lever on each wheel and adjust all four levers to the desired cutting height, ensuring they are set to the same level for an even cut.
Check the drive belt for wear or damage. Ensure it's properly tensioned and replace it if necessary. Also, inspect the drive control cable for proper adjustment.
Regular maintenance such as changing the oil, replacing the air filter, and keeping the blade sharp can improve fuel efficiency. Additionally, mow during cooler parts of the day to reduce engine strain.
