To properly break in the engine, start by riding at varying speeds and throttle positions for the first 1-3 hours. Avoid full throttle or high RPMs during this period. After the initial break-in, change the oil and oil filter to remove any metal particles.
The recommended oil type is a high-quality 10W-50 or 10W-60 fully synthetic oil. The oil capacity, including the filter change, is approximately 1.1 liters.
It is recommended to check and adjust the valve clearance after the first 30 hours of use, and then every 60 hours thereafter. Regular maintenance ensures optimal engine performance and longevity.
For off-road use, maintain a tire pressure between 12-15 psi for soft terrain and 15-18 psi for hard terrain. Adjust the pressure based on the specific riding conditions to optimize grip and comfort.
If the engine is not starting, check the battery charge, fuel level, and ensure the kill switch is in the correct position. Inspect the spark plug for fouling and verify that fuel is reaching the engine.
Regular maintenance includes oil and filter changes every 15 hours of use, checking air filter condition, inspecting brake pads and fluid, and tightening bolts and fasteners. Regularly inspect the drive chain for tension and lubrication.
To adjust the suspension, use the clickers on the forks and shock to modify compression and rebound settings. Start with the factory settings, then make small adjustments based on your weight, riding style, and terrain preference.
If the bike overheats, stop and allow the engine to cool. Check the coolant level and ensure the radiator is not obstructed. Consider using a higher boiling point coolant if overheating persists.
Performance can be enhanced by upgrading the exhaust system, using high-performance air filters, and re-mapping the ECU. Suspension tuning and using premium quality lubricants can also contribute to better performance.
After a muddy ride, rinse the bike with low-pressure water to remove excess mud. Use a mild detergent and soft brush on stubborn areas. Avoid high-pressure washing near bearings and electrical components. Dry thoroughly and lubricate the chain.
