To change the oil, ensure the engine is warm, then disconnect the spark plug. Place an oil pan under the engine, remove the oil drain plug, and let the oil drain completely. Replace the drain plug, refill with new oil, and reconnect the spark plug.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C) to ensure optimal performance.
Check the fuel level, ensure the fuel is fresh, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and clean or replace the air filter. If it still won't start, inspect the battery charge and connections.
Blades should be sharpened at least once per mowing season or every 20-25 hours of use, depending on the conditions and frequency of mowing.
Maintain the tire pressure at 15 PSI for optimal performance and even cutting. Check the tire pressure regularly and adjust as necessary.
To replace the drive belt, disconnect the spark plug, lift the mower deck, remove the old belt from the pulleys, install the new belt following the diagram in the manual, and ensure it is seated properly.
Check that the mower deck is level, the blades are sharp and balanced, and the tire pressure is equal on all wheels. Adjust as necessary to ensure even cutting.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with mild soap and water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. If the filter is damaged or very dirty, replace it with a new one.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, remove any fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, check and replace the air filter if needed, and store the mower in a dry location. Disconnect the battery to avoid discharge.
To adjust the cutting height, use the lever located on the mower deck. Move the lever to the desired position, ensuring both sides are set equally for an even cut.
