The correct fuel mixture for the Husqvarna 385XPG chainsaw is 50:1, which means 50 parts gasoline to 1 part two-stroke oil.
To clean the air filter, remove the top cover, take out the filter, and wash it with warm, soapy water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
First, check the fuel level and ensure the correct fuel mix is used. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage. If necessary, clean or replace it. Also, check the air filter and clean it if it’s dirty.
Sharpen the chain whenever you notice reduced performance, such as when it requires more force to cut. Ideally, check and sharpen the chain after every few uses.
The Husqvarna 385XPG chainsaw can accommodate bar lengths ranging from 18 to 28 inches, depending on your cutting needs.
To adjust the chain tension, locate the tensioning screw on the side of the bar. Turn it clockwise to tighten the chain and counterclockwise to loosen it, ensuring the chain has the correct tension for safe operation.
If the chain keeps coming off, check for proper tension, ensure the guide bar is properly installed, and inspect the drive sprocket for wear. Adjust the tension as needed and replace worn parts.
To replace the spark plug, remove the top cover, disconnect the spark plug wire, and use a spark plug socket to remove the old plug. Install the new spark plug, tighten it securely, and reconnect the wire.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the air filter, inspecting and replacing the spark plug as necessary, checking the chain tension, and sharpening the chain. Also, inspect the fuel filter and replace it annually.
For off-season storage, empty the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the saw, remove the chain and bar, and store them separately. Apply a protective oil to prevent rust.
