To start the Husqvarna 128CD Trimmer, first press the primer bulb 6 times. Set the choke to the closed position. Pull the starter handle until the engine starts, then move the choke to the open position.
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and high-quality air-cooled two-cycle engine oil. The recommended ratio is 50:1.
If the trimmer won't start, check the fuel level and ensure it's fresh. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and clean or replace it if necessary. Also, make sure the air filter is clean.
To replace the trimmer line, turn off the trimmer and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the trimmer head cover and spool. Wind the new line onto the spool in the direction indicated, then reattach the spool and cover.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, checking the fuel filter, and lubricating the drive shaft. It's also important to check and tighten any loose screws or bolts.
To adjust the idle speed, locate the idle speed screw on the carburetor. Turn the screw clockwise to increase the idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it. Adjust until the engine idles smoothly without stalling.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged or unbalanced trimmer head. Inspect the head for damage and ensure the line is properly wound. Replace any damaged parts and ensure all components are securely fastened.
To prevent overheating, ensure the air intake and cooling fins are clean and unobstructed. Use the recommended fuel mixture and avoid running the trimmer at full throttle for extended periods.
The correct spark plug gap for the Husqvarna 128CD Trimmer is 0.024 inches (0.6 mm). Ensure the gap is set correctly for optimal performance.
To store the trimmer for winter, clean it thoroughly and remove any debris. Empty the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor. Store the trimmer in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
