Horizon Fitness T40 2005 User's Guide

To calibrate the speed sensor, first ensure the treadmill is turned off. Hold down the speed increase and stop buttons simultaneously while turning on the treadmill. Release the buttons after the display shows "calibration mode". Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the calibration process.
If the belt is slipping, first check the tension. Use the adjustment bolts at the back of the treadmill to tighten the belt. Turn the bolts clockwise in small increments and test the belt tension after each adjustment. Ensure the belt is centered as well.
To lubricate the belt, turn off and unplug the treadmill. Lift the belt slightly and apply lubricant along the center of the deck. Walk on the treadmill at a low speed to evenly distribute the lubricant. Refer to the manual for recommended lubrication frequency.
A knocking noise may be due to loose hardware. Inspect the treadmill frame, motor area, and deck for any loose bolts or screws. Tighten as necessary. Also, check the belt alignment and tension as these can also cause noise if not properly adjusted.
To reset the console, hold down the stop button for several seconds until the display resets. If this does not work, unplug the treadmill for a few minutes and then plug it back in. This should reset the console.
Regular maintenance includes checking and tightening all hardware, lubricating the belt every 150 miles or as recommended, cleaning the deck and belt, and inspecting the power cord for any damage. Keep the treadmill in a dry, dust-free environment.
If the treadmill does not start, check the power switch and ensure it's turned on. Verify that the safety key is inserted properly. Also, inspect the power outlet and circuit breaker to ensure there is power to the treadmill.
To adjust the incline, use the incline buttons on the console. You can increase or decrease the incline level by pressing the respective buttons. Ensure the treadmill is running at a low speed while adjusting.
An abrupt stop could be due to a loose or missing safety key. Ensure the safety key is securely in place. It could also be due to a belt misalignment or electrical issue; check the power connection and reset the machine if necessary.
To prevent static electricity, place the treadmill on a rubber mat. Ensure proper humidity levels in the room, as dry air increases static buildup. Additionally, regularly clean the belt and deck to reduce static.
