To adjust the temperature settings, locate the temperature control panel inside the refrigerator. Use the up and down arrows to set your desired temperature. The recommended setting for the fridge is 3°C and -18°C for the freezer.
If your refrigerator is not cooling properly, first check if the door is closing completely. Make sure the vents inside the refrigerator are not blocked. Also, verify that the temperature setting is correct and inspect the condenser coils for dust buildup.
To clean the condenser coils, unplug the refrigerator and locate the coils at the back or bottom. Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment or a coil cleaning brush to gently remove dirt and debris.
Store food in airtight containers and ensure that raw foods are kept separate from cooked foods. Place items that need to be consumed soon at the front. Use the crisper drawers for fruits and vegetables to maintain optimal humidity levels.
The De Dietrich DRS615JE features a frost-free system, so manual defrosting is not required. However, if you notice ice buildup, check the door seals and ensure the freezer is not overfilled.
Unusual noises can be caused by the refrigerator not being level, items inside vibrating, or the compressor cycling on and off. Ensure the appliance is on a stable surface and check that internal items are not clanging together.
To change the light bulb, first unplug the refrigerator. Locate the light cover inside the appliance, remove it, and unscrew the old bulb. Replace it with a new bulb of the same wattage and type, then reattach the cover.
Water pooling can result from a blocked defrost drain. Clear the drain hole located at the back of the refrigerator using a pipe cleaner or similar tool. Ensure that no food particles are obstructing the drain.
Regularly clean the interior and exterior, check door seals for leaks, clean the condenser coils, and ensure the appliance is level. Also, periodically check the temperature settings to ensure they are optimal.
Inspect the door seals for cracks, tears, or deformation. If you notice condensation or the door not closing properly, the seals may need replacement. A simple test involves closing the door on a piece of paper; if it slides out easily, the seal may be compromised.
