To turn on the De Dietrich DPI765BUI Hob, press the power button located on the control panel. Once the hob is on, select the desired cooking zone by pressing the corresponding zone button and adjust the heat setting using the "+" or "-" keys.
Ensure that the hob is properly plugged in and the circuit breaker is not tripped. Verify that the correct cooking zone is selected and that the heat setting is not at zero. Check for any error codes on the display and consult the manual for troubleshooting specific codes.
Use a soft, damp cloth with a mild detergent to clean the hob surface. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scouring pads as they may scratch the surface. For persistent stains, use a specialized hob cleaner recommended by the manufacturer.
The humming noise is normal and is caused by the induction technology. It occurs when the magnetic fields interact with the cookware. Ensure that you are using compatible cookware with a flat base to minimize noise.
To activate the child lock, press and hold the lock button on the control panel until the indicator light turns on. This will disable the touch controls, preventing accidental changes to the settings. To deactivate, press and hold the lock button again until the light turns off.
Use cookware that is induction-compatible, which typically has a ferrous metal base. You can test compatibility by seeing if a magnet sticks to the bottom of the cookware. Ensure the base is flat for optimal performance.
Select the cooking zone and press the timer button. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to set the desired cooking time. Once set, the hob will automatically turn off the zone when the timer reaches zero.
The hob may shut down automatically if it overheats or if a cooking zone is left on for an extended period without adjustment. This is a safety feature. Ensure proper ventilation and avoid placing oversized cookware that can block ventilation.
It is not recommended to use the hob if the control panel is wet. Moisture can interfere with the touch controls and may cause the hob to malfunction. Dry the panel completely before use.
To reset the hob, disconnect it from the power supply by unplugging it or turning off the circuit breaker for a few minutes. Then, reconnect the power and turn the hob back on. This can help resolve minor software glitches.
