Ensure the pump is on a level surface, fill the fuel tank, and check oil levels. Open the fuel valve, set the choke, and pull the starter handle gently until you feel resistance, then pull firmly.
Check for any air leaks in the suction hose, ensure all connections are tight, and verify that the pump casing is filled with water before operation.
Change the oil after the first 20 hours of operation, and then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 86. Avoid using old or contaminated fuel.
Flush the pump with clean water to remove debris, drain any remaining water, and dry all components thoroughly to prevent rust.
Drain all fluids, remove the spark plug and add a tablespoon of oil into the cylinder, pull the starter rope slowly to distribute the oil, and store in a dry place.
Check fuel levels, inspect the spark plug for damage or wear, ensure the fuel valve is open, and confirm that the choke is set properly for cold starts.
Regularly check and clean the air filter, inspect and tighten all bolts and nuts, and ensure the impeller and volute are free of obstructions.
Use a strainer on the suction hose to prevent large debris from entering, and ensure that the pump is not run dry as this can cause blockages.
Wear protective gear, keep hands and feet clear of moving parts, operate in a well-ventilated area, and never refuel while the engine is hot or running.
