To enable macro mode on your Canon IXUS 990 IS, turn the mode dial to the camera icon, press the left directional button on the control wheel until the flower icon appears on the screen, indicating macro mode is activated.
First, ensure the battery is fully charged. If the camera still does not power on, try replacing the battery with a new one. If the issue persists, inspect the battery compartment for any debris or corrosion, and clean it if necessary.
Connect the camera to your computer using a USB cable. Turn on the camera, and your computer should recognize it as an external device. You can then open the device on your computer and copy the photos to your desired location.
Use a blower brush to remove any loose dust particles from the lens. Then, gently wipe the lens with a microfiber cloth. If necessary, use a lens cleaning solution applied to the cloth, not directly on the lens.
To reset the camera to its factory settings, press the Menu button, navigate to the 'Tools' tab, and select 'Reset All'. Confirm your selection to restore the camera to its default settings.
Blurry photos can be caused by camera shake, slow shutter speed, or incorrect focus. Use a tripod to stabilize the camera, increase the shutter speed, and ensure that the camera is focusing correctly on the subject.
To change the flash settings, press the right directional button on the control wheel. You can cycle through the flash modes such as auto, on, off, and red-eye reduction.
The Canon IXUS 990 IS is compatible with SD, SDHC, and MMC memory cards. Ensure the card is formatted in the camera before use for optimal performance.
To extend battery life, reduce the LCD screen brightness, disable the continuous AF mode, and use the viewfinder instead of the LCD when possible. Also, turn off the camera when not in use.
Ensure that the lens is clean and unobstructed. Try switching to manual focus to see if it helps. If autofocus problems persist, reset the camera settings or consult the user manual for further troubleshooting steps.
