The 2006 Cadillac DTS requires a Dex-Cool antifreeze and coolant. Ensure it is a 50/50 mixture with water for optimal performance.
First, check the A/C fuse and relay in the fuse box. If these are intact, inspect the refrigerant levels and check for leaks. If the issue persists, the A/C compressor or pressure switch may need professional diagnostics.
The recommended tire pressure for the 2006 Cadillac DTS is typically 30 PSI for both front and rear tires. Always refer to the label located on the driver's side door jamb for verification.
To change the headlight bulb, open the hood and remove the headlamp assembly retaining clips. Pull the assembly out, disconnect the electrical connector, and replace the bulb. Reinstall the assembly in reverse order.
If the battery is good, check the starter and alternator for functionality. Ensure the gear is in Park or Neutral and try starting again. If the problem continues, there may be an issue with the ignition switch or fuel system.
It is recommended to change the transmission fluid every 50,000 to 100,000 miles, depending on your driving conditions. Always refer to your owner's manual for specific intervals.
Common causes include low coolant levels, a faulty thermostat, a failing water pump, or a clogged radiator. Check these components if your vehicle is overheating.
To replace the windshield wipers, lift the wiper arm away from the windshield and press the small tab to release the blade. Attach the new wiper blade until it clicks into place and lower the arm back onto the windshield.
Regular maintenance includes oil changes every 3,000 to 5,000 miles, checking fluid levels, rotating tires every 6,000 to 8,000 miles, and inspecting brakes and belts periodically. Refer to the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual for detailed intervals.
