To start the tractor, ensure that the gear is in neutral, engage the parking brake, and turn the ignition key to the start position. Release the key once the engine starts.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is fully charged, and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage. Make sure the fuel valve is open and the choke is in the correct position.
Regular maintenance should be performed every 50 hours of operation or at the start of each season, including oil changes, air filter cleaning, and blade sharpening.
It is recommended to use SAE 30W oil for temperatures above 40°F, and SAE 10W-30 for temperatures below 40°F.
Ensure the blades are sharp and properly balanced, check the tire pressure for consistency, and verify that the deck is clean and level.
Use a garden hose to rinse off grass clippings and debris from the deck. Avoid using high pressure to prevent damage. Ensure the tractor is turned off and cool before cleaning.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the old filter, and replace it with a new one. Make sure the new filter is seated properly before reattaching the cover.
Excessive vibration may be due to unbalanced or damaged blades, loose engine mounting bolts, or debris lodged in the deck. Inspect and resolve any issues found.
Inspect the battery terminals for corrosion, ensure the alternator and voltage regulator are functioning properly, and check for any electrical shorts or parasitic drains.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, remove the battery, and store it in a dry place. Add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank and run the engine for a few minutes to circulate it.
