To start the tractor, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the throttle is set to the correct position, and the PTO switch is off. Then, turn the ignition key to the start position until the engine fires up.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 40°F (4°C) and 10W-30 for varying temperature ranges. Check the oil level regularly and change it as per the maintenance schedule.
Check the battery connections, fuel level, and spark plug condition. Ensure the fuel shut-off valve is open and the air filter is clean. Replace or clean components as necessary.
The air filter should be checked every 25 hours of operation and replaced every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. More frequent changes may be necessary in dusty conditions.
Excessive vibration could be due to unbalanced blades, loose parts, or damaged components. Inspect the blades for damage, tighten any loose bolts, and replace worn parts as needed.
To change the blades, safely lift the tractor, remove the blade nuts, and replace the old blades with new ones. Ensure the blades are installed correctly and securely tightened.
If the engine overheats, stop the tractor immediately and let it cool. Check the coolant level, radiator for blockages, and ensure the engine oil is at the correct level. Address any issues before resuming operation.
Keep the battery terminals clean and tight. Check the electrolyte levels and top up with distilled water if necessary. Store the battery in a cool, dry place if not in use for extended periods.
Refer to the operator's manual for the recommended tire pressure. Generally, front tires should be inflated to 14 PSI and rear tires to 10 PSI, but always confirm with the manual.
To winterize, remove the battery and store it in a cool dry place, add fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank, and change the oil. Clean the tractor thoroughly and cover it to protect against dust and moisture.
