Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the 'Start' position while pressing the brake pedal. Release the key once the engine starts.
Use SAE 30W oil for general use. In cold climates, 5W-30 may be used to improve starting. Always check the manual for specific recommendations.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours or at least once per season.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, and inspect the spark plug for damage or wear. Ensure the PTO is disengaged and the brake is fully pressed.
Locate the air filter cover on the side of the engine, remove the cover, take out the old filter, and replace it with a new one before securing the cover back in place.
Check for loose parts, ensure the blades are balanced and not damaged, and inspect the engine mounts for wear or damage.
Check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the battery is fully charged, and test the battery with a multimeter to confirm it holds a charge.
The recommended tire pressure is typically between 10-14 psi for the front tires and 12-16 psi for the rear tires. Refer to the manual for exact specifications.
Use the lever located on the right side of the seat to adjust the cutting height. Move the lever to one of the preset positions for the desired height.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, drain the fuel tank or add a stabilizer, remove and charge the battery, and store in a dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and debris.
