Ensure the tractor is on a flat surface. Engage the parking brake, set the throttle to the 'start' position, and turn the ignition key clockwise to start the engine. Release the key once the engine starts.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and inspect the air filter. If the problem persists, verify the battery charge and connections.
Regularly check and replace the oil, clean the air filter, inspect the spark plug, and maintain tire pressure. Conduct seasonal inspections for belts and blades.
Warm up the engine, turn it off, and place a pan under the oil drain plug. Remove the plug and allow the oil to drain completely. Replace the plug and fill with new oil as per the manual's specifications.
Check for debris lodged in the blades or under the deck. Inspect the blades for damage or imbalance. Examine the engine mounts and wheel alignment as well.
Locate the spark plug on the engine. Remove the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to unscrew the plug, and replace it with a new one. Ensure the new plug is properly gapped and securely tightened.
Check the PTO switch or lever to ensure it's engaged. Inspect the deck belt for wear or damage and verify the engagement cable is properly connected and functioning.
Clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, and add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
Locate the height adjustment lever, usually found near the seat or the deck. Move the lever to the desired height setting, ensuring it clicks into place for a secure adjustment.
This may be due to a clogged air filter, dirty fuel, or a worn spark plug. Ensure the fuel cap vent is clear and the carburetor is clean. Check for obstructions in the cutting path.
