To set up your Bontrager Trip 300, begin by installing the sensor on your bike fork and the magnet on the wheel spoke. Then, mount the computer on your handlebars. Follow the on-screen instructions to input your tire size, set the clock, and calibrate the device.
Ensure that the sensor and magnet are properly aligned and that the sensor is within the specified distance from the magnet. Check the battery in both the sensor and the computer to make sure they have sufficient charge.
To reset the trip distance, press and hold the "MODE" button until the display shows "RESET". Release the button to clear the trip distance to zero.
To change the battery, open the battery compartment on the back of the computer using a coin. Replace the old battery with a new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive side is facing up, and close the compartment securely.
The maximum wireless range for the Bontrager Trip 300 sensor is approximately 70 cm (27.5 inches) from the sensor to the computer. Ensure the sensor and computer are within this range for accurate readings.
Incorrect speed readings can be due to improper wheel size settings. Verify that the wheel size is correctly inputted in the settings. Also, check for any obstructions or misalignment between the sensor and magnet.
To switch between kilometers and miles, access the settings by pressing and holding the "SET" button. Navigate to the units option and select either kilometers (KM) or miles (MI) as preferred.
Regularly check the battery levels of both the computer and sensor. Ensure the sensor and magnet are clean and free from debris. Periodically verify the alignment and secure mounting of the components.
To calibrate, ensure the correct wheel size is entered in the settings. This can typically be found on the tire sidewall or in the bike's manual. Follow the setup prompts to ensure the device is properly calibrated.
First, check the battery and replace it if necessary. Ensure the battery is correctly installed. If the issue persists, verify that the contacts inside the compartment are clean and making good contact with the battery.
